Raffle
Thanks for your participation1. The purchase of
a Raffle certificate is $60.00. Payments may not be tax-deductible
contributions. Refer to a tax specialist for your individual tax deduction
possibilities. Payments may be made by VISA & Master Card and faxed to our
office. Check or money orders may be attached to the completed certificate
entry form and mailed to AFIT, 9800 Topanga Canyon Blvd., Suite D.,
Chatsworth, CA 91311. Upon receipt of completed entry form and payment,
ticket/s will be faxed, mailed, or e-mailed within 15 working days. If an
entrant's check is dishonored by the bank, the entry form will be declared
invalid unless full payment is made prior to the drawing. Any dishonored
check will be considered an invalid entry and participant will be notified
by mail.
2. Completed certificate registration forms must be in the possession of
American Families in Transition by 3:30 PM PST, on September 25, 2004 or
before 4200 entry forms are received, whichever occurs first, to be
eligible for the March 2004 Benefit Car Raffle. The March 2004 Benefit Car
Raffle will run from March 25, 2004 to September 25, 2004.
3. Purchasers of Raffle certificates must be 18 years of age or older.
4. All AFIT employees or family members of AFIT employees are ineligible
to participate in the Raffle.
5. The Grand Prize shall be the winner's choice of a BMW 325ci convertible
(as equipped by the BMW dealer) or $40,000 cash, subject to these rules.
The (15) second prize winners will receive $2,000.00 cash.
6. Names of the winners will be available to the media, all raffle
participants, and may be displayed on the AFIT website (www.americanfit.org)
at a later date.
7. In the event 4200 certificates are sold, each certificate has an
approximately 1-in-262 chance of winning a prize in the Raffle. There will
be 16 winners.
8. Only 4200 certificates will be sold. The Raffle will be closed at 3:30
PM EST on September 25, 2004, or when 4200 sold certificate forms are in
the possession of AFIT or its representatives, whichever occurs first. Any
certificate forms and money turned in after the closure of the Raffle,
will be returned to the buyer. All certificate forms will be recorded on a
first come, first served basis.
9. Winners will be determined by random drawings, the drawing date will be
Saturday, October 2nd, 2004 at 7:00 PM PST, at University Christian
Church, 5831 W. Centinela Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90045. The public is
invited to attend.
10. Because the BMW 325ci Convertible is in extremely high demand and may
be in short supply, if the Grand Prize winner chooses the car, delivery of
the car will be made to the Grand Prize winner as soon as practical;
however, there may be a delay in delivery because of the availability of
the vehicle.
11. Winners will assume and be responsible for all licensing,
registration, and all other fees, and local, state and federal taxes,
including without limitation all applicable sales, use, luxury, income and
special taxes. AFIT SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ALL EXPRESS OR IMPLIED
WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A
PARTICULAR PURPOSE REGARDING THE BMW 325ci convertible.
12. If 3,500 certificates are not sold by August 25, 2004, AFIT reserves
the right to modify the Raffle and withdraw the Grand Prize/, and split
the remaining net proceeds (income less expenses) equally between AFIT and
the 16 winners. All proceeds, less prizes and expenses, will benefit AFIT.
The Social Security number must provided by all winners, and must be that
of the entrant. Payment or delivery of any prize shall be made solely to
the entrant. It is the sole responsibility of the entrant in the multiple
party entry to allocate any such prize among the participants in the
multiple party entry.
13. The decision of AFIT shall be final on all matters concerning the
Raffle.
14. Void where prohibited by law.
15. The purchase of the BMW 325ci convertible will be through an
authorized BMW Dealership.
The raffle is licensed and operated under the laws and regulations set
forth by the CA Department of Justice.
